Located at 3,400 meters above sea level, Cusco was the capital of the Inca Empire and one of the most important cities in the Viceroyalty of Peru. With a population of nearly 400,000 inhabitants, Cusco is the most important tourist destination in the country.

The city of Cusco was declared Cultural Heritage of Humanity by Unesco in 1983 in view that it still has many Inca and colonial buildings, squares and streets in and around the city. The boom in tourism has led to the establishment of several hotel chains and exclusive restaurants and stores.

The main tourist attraction in the region is the historical sanctuary of Machu Picchu, 130 km from Cusco. In 2007, it was named one of the new Seven Wonders of the World, after almost 100 million people voted in the selection of the seven man-made wonders.

On the other hand, the development of the Camisea gas fields, located in the Cusco Jungle, began in August 2004. Natural gas and natural gas liquids are transported through a pipeline to the port of Pisco, 431 km. south of Lima. Transportadora de Gas del Perú (Tgp) has been our client since it began operations in Peru. A project also exists to take natural gas to several provinces in southern Peru.

The opening of our Cusco office strengthens our commitment to permanently provide high quality legal services to our clients in the main cities of Peru.
